Within easy reach of both Denver and Boulder, Westminster is a suburb of about 116,000 that most people know for its lake, its trails and its easy road access to everything else in the Front Range. It sits at about 5,400 feet, so newcomers may feel the altitude for a day or two and should drink plenty of water.
Life here is mostly practical and outdoorsy. Standley Lake is the local favorite for boating, fishing and winter eagle watching, and the Big Dry Creek Trail threads through town. Butterfly Pavilion is a good stop with kids, and the Westminster Promenade and Orchard Town Center handle dinner and shopping. Neighborhoods range from golf-course Legacy Ridge to lakeside homes and planned Bradburn Village. It is expensive for a city this size, and prices have flattened a little after the boom years. The weather is sunny but can turn hard: hail from May to August is real, and wildfire smoke and sudden winter storms come with the territory. Car break-ins at trailheads and shopping centers are the main nuisance.

About this data
Population is Census Vintage 2025 (July 1, 2025) via QuickFacts; land area 31.59 sq mi from Census; median value and rent from Census ACS via QuickFacts. Westminster has no dedicated tourism bureau confirmed, so the city website is used for visitor_website; the calendar is the City main events calendar. Elevation, coordinates, founding, event months, hotel ranges, tipping, cost-of-living index, crime rates, airport distances and 1BR rent are approximate or from general knowledge and not verified in this pass; web fetch was limited so confidence is lower on those. Metro figure 3,092,037 is the Denver-Aurora-Centennial MSA figure supplied for this batch, shared with Denver and Aurora (not the anchor city). Official URLs found via search but not load-tested.
